Iran cineastes to judge in Dhaka Filmfest

Three Iranian cineastes have been selected to serve as jury members at the 15th Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF) in Bangladesh.

Iranian-Armenian actor Levon Haftvan and Farabi Cinema Foundation’s official Amir Esfandiari are among the four jurors of Australasian (Australia and Asia) Film Competition Section of the event.

Renowned Iranian actress Mahtab Keramati has been named as a juror in the Women Filmmakers Section.

The actress Keramati who has appeared in over 40 movies, plays and TV series, is also a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations in Iran.

Some 26 movies are set to be screened in different sections of the festival including the Asian Film Competition, Cinema of the World, Children Film, Short and Independent and Spiritual Film.

The 2017 edition of the festival are scheduled to present 187 movies from 60 countries in different sections.

The DIFF which is one of the most prestigious film events in Bangladesh has programmed this year’s edition of the event for January 12-20.
